Midi length tea dresses, while definitely very elegant, can also add years to your look depending on how you’ve styled it. And as much as we love being ‘granny-chic’ every now and again, sometimes you just want to feel youthful, fresh and fun.

The above dress is the perfect example to demonstrate my point. Although a gorgeous lemon colour, the dress had the risk of coming across as matronly but we found the perfect fix – some Dolce and Gabbana OTT love.

The brand is extravagant in all it does, including clothes, shows, accessories and advertisements. So if you’re one to follow the simplicity mantra, D&G is probably not your go-to choice. For us however, the brand offered us a creative point to get inspiration from. We imbibed their aesthetic by not holding back on colour in this look. Think pom pom shoes(D&G inspired), tassel earrings, pinks, yellows, oranges and everything in between. But while we’re all for channeling D&G, we also made a point of toning down the look by making sure the accessories weren’t over powering. For those readers that are game enough though, there is no stopping on the accessories with D&G, think elaborate headbands, quirky sunglasses and bright red lipsticks!

The end result? A look that’s equal parts cute and colour while also being suited to the day-to-day.
